To get your first clients, I recommend reaching out to your friends and family and offering them a small gallery of photos. Start by planning a short one-hour session and think through the details—choose poses, outfits, and locations in advance (Pinterest is great for this). Once the shoot is done, focus on editing the photos and preparing the gallery for delivery. You can also request a small charge that you and your client are comfortable with. This way, you’ll gain valuable experience while building your portfolio!

Absolutely! While practice is key, it’s also important to focus on the niche you’re interested in, whether it’s nature, portraits, or landscapes. Once you find what you enjoy photographing, work on developing your editing style—playing around with Lightroom can really help with that. Also, take the time to understand your camera’s manual settings such as ISO, aperture, and shutter speed. And remember, great photos aren’t solely about expensive gear!
